Principal Dancer of National Ballet of China

Zhao Xinyue graduated from Ballet Major of Beijing Dance Academy in 2018. And in the same year, she won the Prix de Lausanne Scholarship and went to study in the Royal Academy of Dance for one year. She joined the National Ballet of China in 2019.

In 2017, she won the Golden Award in the 4th Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition, the Special Jury Prize in TANZOLYMP International Dance Festival in Berlin in July, 2017, and the First Prize in American Ballet Invitational in November, 2017. She ranked fifth in the Prix de Lausanne in 2018. In 2020, she won the Junior Classical and Junior Contemporary (Female) Gold Medals in the 7th South African International Ballet Competition (online). In 2023, she won the Silver Medal in Senior Females Division at the 12th USA International Ballet Competition.

Since entering NBC, Zhao has danced the leading roles in classical ballets Swan Lake, Roland Petit's L' Arlesienne, Carmen and La Chauve-Souris, romantic ballet work La Sylphide, George Balanchine's Serenade, Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, and Chinese ballet Chinese New Year (The Nutcracker Chinese Version) and etc. She also danced “Comrade in Arms” in Chinese ballet The Red Detachment of Women, the major roles in the classic work of world ballet Jewels and the symphony ballet The Great Land as well.
