Soloist of the National Ballet of China, and the National First-class Dancer.
Graduated from the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy in 2009 and went on to study in the Ballet Department of Beijing Dance Academy, graduating in 2013. In the same year, he joined the National Ballet of China. In 2021, he has got his master's degree in art from Beijing Dance Academy.
He has danced the leading characters in John Neumeier's Songs and Dances of the Earth and The Little Mermaid, and the main roles in the classic ballets like Swan Lake, Gisele, La Sylphide, Carmen, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, and The Red Detachment of Women, etc. He has as well as danced in many repertoires of the Company, like Chinese New Year (The Nutcracker Chinese Version) , Firebird, Raise the Red Lanter, La Bayadère, The Crane Calling, The Light of Heart, The Peony Pavilion, Yellow River, etc. In 2016, he danced the modern ballet work Over There as the guest artist at the invitation of Hongkong Ballet. In 2022, he participated as a choreographer for the first time in the 12th Ballet Workshop with the ballet work Live Show, and then created A Room of Her Own, The Goldberg Variations and The Peach Blossom Utopia in the following Ballet Workshop.
In 2006, Wang Jiyu took part in the 1st National Ballet Invitational and won the Third Prize of Junior Group. He won the Third Prize of Youth Group in the 10th National Dance Competition (Taoli Cup) in 2012.
