On July 11-12, National Ballet of China staged the classic ballet La Bayadère at the Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts, fulfilling the eager anticipation of local audiences.

The two performances were led by Xu Yan (as Nikiya), Li Wentao (as Solor) and Qiu Yunting (as Gamzatti) for the first day, and Zhan Xinlu (as Nikiya), Wu Sicong (as Solor) and Lu Xuelan (debuted as Gamzatti) for the second.

A day before the premiere, Wang Qimin, Ballet Master Assistant and former Prima Ballerina of NBC, hosted an engaging pre-performance introduction about La Bayadère for Jiangsu audiences.

Following the first performance, the leading cast greeted fans in the theater lobby, signing autographs, interacting and taking photos with enthusiastic ballet lovers.

From July 15 to 16, the Chinese ballet A Dream of Red Mansions will take the stage at the Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts. The tour then continues to Hangzhou and Urumqi. Stay tuned for the updates from National Ballet of China—we look forward to meeting you at theaters!
