On July 24 and 25, thunderous applause filled Urumqi Cultural Center Grand Theatre, where the National Ballet of China staged its classic ballet The Red Detachment of Women. Marking the 90th anniversary of the victory of the  Long March, this landmark Chinese ballet traveled to Urumqi, igniting the city's  with the power and conviction of ballet.

On July 22, prior to the performances, NBC dancers met face to face with enthusiastic Urumqi audiences at a pre-performance meet-and-greet.

Next, The Red Detachment of Women will take the stage at the Opera House of the National Centre for the Performing Arts from July 30 to August 2, bringing this timeless classic back to Beijing audiences in celebration of Army Day!
