Wang Xiaomao, a young violinist studied in Germany, now is the concertmaster with National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, Director of Chinese Musicians Association Council and the specially-appointed professor in the Orchestral Instruments Department of China Conservatory of Music.

Wang Xiaomao began violin study at the age of four with his father. He studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Chinese Conservatory of Music successively, and entered the German Hochschule Für MusikFreiburg in 2001 for further study. In the summer of 2007, he graduated with full marks, obtained the highest degree of musician in Germany-the doctordegree, and was awarded the title of "the Best Performer in the College".He has studied with the violinist and educator Zhang Shixiang, then Lu Mengda,Ding Zhinuo, Huang Xiaozhi, Wang Zhenshan and Lin Chaoyan, as well as Polishviolinist Magdalena Rezler and German violinist Rainer Kussmaul, who was the first concertmaster with the Berlin Philharmoniker. Wang Xiaomao has visited more than 20 countries and regions around the world including England, France,Austria, Netherlands, Italy, Luxembourg, America and Japan, and has been invited to cooperate with many famous orchestras at home and abroad.

In 2005, he was invited as principal of the second violin in the Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg and has performed regularly as a soloviolinist. German music critic praised Wang as 'a young man from the East with a crystal clear bow, perfectly demonstrating a combination of skill and music". In 2008, he was selected as concertmaster with Theatre Mönchengladbach and becamethe youngest concertmaster in its history.

In 2010, Wang returned to China and became the concert master with National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra in 2012. In 2014, he joined the Dragon Quartet which was established by famous violinist Ning Feng, cellist Qin Liwei and violist Zheng Wenxiao.
