Wang Qi

Choreographer and Répétiteur of NBC, National First-class Dancer.

Graduated from the Ballet Department of Shenyang Conservatory of Music in 1997, Wang Qi became a member of Guangzhou Ballet from 1998 to 2002. Joined the National Ballet of China since 2002, she has performed as a soloist or coryphée in many ballets, including The Peony Pavilion, Onegin, Sylvia, Raise the Red Lantern, The Red Detachment of Women, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker(Chinese Version), Serenade, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3, Beethoven Symphony No.7, L'Arlesienne, Carman, Etudes, Four Temperaments, Theme and Variations, Yellow River, The New-Year Sacrifice, Giselle, Coppelia, Don Quixote, The Little Mermaid and La Chauve-Souris, etc.

Wang Qi has won the Silver Medal in 19th Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria. In 1997, she won the Silver Medal in the Dance Competition of Liaoning Province, Outstanding Performance Award in National Dance Competition (Taoli Cup) and Outstanding Performing Prize of Asia Pacific International Ballet Competition in Japan. She also won the Silver Medal (Ballet Group) in National Audition for International Dance Competition, Silver Award in Guangzhou Xinxing Performance Competition in 2000 and Second-Class Merit by the Municipal Government of Guangzhou as well as Professional Technical Personnel Outstanding Contribution Award in the same year.

Wang Qi was the assistant coach for the staging of La Chauve- Souris. She also created Yuanyuan's solo dance, children dance and kite dance in The Nutcracker(Chinese Version). Her other works include Goodbye Carmen, In the Dark, Who Is It? Night, Passing By and In Memory of Zhaojun, etc. In July 2014, she participated in American Dance Festival (ADF) and created Migration for the festival students. In the year 2016, she choreographed Love of Mulan in NBC's 7th Ballet Workshop Evening.
