Sun Xiaoqian

Graduated from The Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy in 2008, Sun Xiaoqian joined the National Ballet of China in the same year. Now, she is the Life Teacher of the School of National Ballet of China, National Second-Class Dancer.

She has danced Xiao’e in The Red Detachment of Women and Yuan Yuan(kid) in Chinese New Year. She has performed as a soloist dancer in numerous Chinese and international ballets, including Roland Petit’s La Chauve-Souris, John Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid, Natalia Makarova’s Swan Lake, as well as Don Quixote, Giselle, and The Crane Calling. She has also performed in the Company’s repertoire like Romeo and Juliet, Jewels, L’Arlésienne, Onegin, Étude, Spring and Fall, Sylvia, Le Sacre du Printemps, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3, Serenade, Raise the Red Lantern, The Peony Pavilion, The Light of Heart, Like Flowers, The Yellow River, A Dream of Red Mansions, The New-Year Sacrifice, and contemporary works including On the Road, Dance with Me, and Fragments.

She has won the Silver Medal in Group B at the 1st Beijing Dance Academy International Ballet Competition for Dance Schools, Outstanding Performance Award at the 8th Taoli Cup National Dance Competition, Gold Medal in Group A at the China-Japan Friendship Ballet Competition and the Outstanding Performance Award in the Senior Division at the 2nd Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition.
