At 7: 30 p.m. on August 6, the Ballet Gala of the National Ballet of China kicked off as promised as the first offline performance of National Centre for the Performing Arts of China Opera House after the epidemic risk was decreased. The performance was expected from winter to summer. Since the successful conclusion of the final ballet performance of National Centre for the Performing Arts—Chinese New Year (The Nutcracker Chinese Version) by National Ballet of China on January 19, 2020 till the resumption of offline performance of National Ballet of China on August 6, 2020, we have been looking forward to the Ballet Gala for 200 days. On this familiar and long-lost stage, artists of National Ballet of China offered a sincere blessing to the audience that are long-separated from the theater with the premiere of the original new work Against the Wind.
During the performance that night, Premier Danceur Ma Xiaodong, Principal Dancers Qiu Yunting and Sun Ruichen, and excellent dancers Hou Shuang, Zhao Xinyue, Guan Chongzheng and Ning Long led the dancers of National Ballet of China and turned the stage of the evening into Starlight Glimmer. The audience all were immersed in this colorful ballet feast with one ballet classic after another.

As the original symphony ballet work performed by National Ballet of China at the end of the night, the premiere of Against the Wind is undoubtedly the highlight of the whole evening. When affectionate melodies flow from ears to hearts, the dancers on the stage vividly reproduce the pictures of the medical workers in the frontline facing the threats with exquisite and moving dances. In the face of danger, the magnificent group dances form a scene of soaring wings, holding up the hope of life with selfless love and determination to sacrifice. The perspiring and tearful faces of the dancers shined with touching light, affecting the audience on the scene. At the end of the performance, tears streamed out of everyone's eyes and the audience stood up to applaud pay their respect to the artists on the stage.
