On two consecutive nights, July 16 and 17, the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Zhang Yi and Resident Conductor Liu Ju respectively, gave wonderful concerts for the audience.
On the evening of July 16, conductor Zhang Yi and the Orchestra presented an opening concert for the NCPA's 12th "Roam about the Classics" concert series.
This concert started with the Three Fables by young composer Shang Peilei, followed by Nezha Conquers the Dragon King for guzheng and orchestra arranged by composer Jin Fuzai.
In the second half, the Orchestra performed four sections consisting of 20 musical short works based on Chinese folk music by composer Yu Jingjun under the baton of conductor Zhang Yi.
On July 17, the Orchestra went onto the stage of Shunyi Grand Theatre under the baton of Resident Conductor Liu Ju.
In the first stage of the performance, the Orchestra presented Three Symphonic Movements by Yu Jingjun, which is an excerpt from the first original large-scale independent symphony of NBC Symphony Orchestra Symphony of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
And in the second half, the Orchestra performed the Chinese symphonic classic Ode to the Red Flag composed by Qiming Lü, excerpts from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky and excerpts from the classic Chinese ballet The Red Detachment of Women.
At the end of the concert, a children's choir of nearly 20 teenagers from Shunyi District also staged I Love You, China in cooperation with the orchestra.
