On August 1, as a grand tribute to the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, National Ballet of China staged the classic ballet The Red Detachment of Women at the Opera House of National Centre for the Performing Arts.

In this performance, Prima Ballerina of NBC Qiu Yunting took the role "Qionghua" and Première Danseur of NBC Ma Xiaodong took the role "Hong Changqing". Prima Ballerina Wang Qimin made an appearance in the performance as a leading girl of the Li ethnic group. Music Director Zhang Yi conducted the Symphony Orchestra of NBC, which went under the lead of Associate Concertmaster Liu Xiaohuan.
