From August 26 to 30, 2022, National Ballet of China will present the classic ballet The Little Mermaid created by world ballet choreographer John Neumeier at Beijing Tianqiao Theater.

On the night of The Little Mermaid Chinese premiere on September 24, 2012, John Neumeier

took the stage to pay his respects.

During the decade, Zhu Yan, Zhang Jian, Wang Qimin, Ma Xiaodong, Cao Shuci, Li Jun, Yu Bo, Sun

Ruichen, Wang Ye, Zhan Xinlu, Wu Sicong, Zhou Zhaohui, Wang Jiyu, etc. had starred

in The Little Mermaid.

John Neumeier came to Beijing in 2012 to direct the Chinese debut of The Little Mermaid for NBC.

In this re-stage performance, NBC have assigned Prima Ballerina Wang Qimin and Première Danseur Ma Xiaodong as the leading roles with other dancers of NBC including Sun Ruichen, Wang Ye and Wang Jiyu. And Qiu Yunting, Zhan Xinlu, Fang Mengying, Xu Yan, Li Wentao, Wu Sicong, Chen Zhuming, Sun Yimeng, Zeng Shuai, etc. taking new roles.

The Symphony Orchestra of NBC will present the live music performance under the leadership of Music Director Zhang Yi and under the lead of Concertmaster Wang Xiaomao and Associate Concertmaster Liu Xiaohuan.

In this round of re-staged performance, Zhu Yan, Xu Gang, Zhang Jian, Wang Qimin, Li Jun, Wang

Hao, Wang Qi and other repetiteurs who have been personally taught by John will

guide the dancers in rehearsals.
