On the evening of July 9, local time in Germany, Feng Ying, Director of National Ballet of China, led NBC’s artists to participate in the closing ceremony for the 48th Hamburg Ballet Days- “Nijinsky Gala” with a brand-new original work One Thought for a Lifetime.
The work One Thought for a Lifetime was specially created by the National Ballet of China for this Nijinsky Gala at the invitation of John Neumeier, the world-famous ballet choreographer and artistic director of Hamburg Ballet.
After seeing the rehearsal of this work, Master John Neumeier was deeply moved. He highly praised the beauty of this work, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to Director Feng Ying for several times.
This year’s Nijinsky Gala is not only the closing ceremony for the Hamburg Ballet Days, but also an important commemorative performance for the 50th anniversary of Master John Neumeier as artistic director of Hamburg Ballet, attracting ballet fans, artists, directors, as well as producers and agents from all over the world.
Artists from Opéra de Paris expressed their greetings and congratulations to NBC’s artists led by Madam Feng Ying.
Silvia Azzoni and Alexandre Riabko, the senior stars of Hamburg Ballet came to a visit the artists of NBC and took a group photo.
And NBC also invited the young conductor Fan Ni, who made a special trip from Berlin to Hamburg, to consult Master Neumeier face-to-face about the better fusion of music and dance.
Since 2010, the Hamburg Ballet, led by the world-famous choreographer John Neumeier, has invited NBC’s artists to participate in the closing ceremony for the Hamburg Ballet Days-”Nijinsky Gala” for six times.
NBC’s artists, under the leadership of Director Feng Ying, won the favor of many German fans and the invitations of international ballet companies, but also demonstrated the high-quality development of Chinese culture and displayed the image of China in the new era with the highest level of interpretation.
