On the evening of September 9, under the baton of 84-year-old renowned conductor Mr. Chen Xieyang, the NBC Symphony Orchestra will present the themed concert “Eternal Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky II” at the National Centre for the Performing Arts together with Tan Xiaotang, pianist and the professor of the Central Conservatory of Music, to interpret three masterpieces of Tchaikovsky.
The first planned repertoire is the Polonaise Brillante from the opera Onegin by Tchaikovsky.
Next, NBC Symphony Orchestra will cooperate with pianist Tan Xiaotang to perform the most recognizable masterpiece of Tchaikovsky's instrumental works: Piano Concerto No.1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23.
In the second half of the concert, NBC Symphony Orchestra will perform the Symphony No.4 in F Minor, Op. 36 of Tchaikovsky under the baton of conductor Mr. Chen Xieyang.
