Founded in 1953, Tianqiao Theatre is the first full-edged theatre of the PRC. Located at the center of the capital Beijing, it has always been a lightening pearl of culture.

In the past more than 60 years, Tianqiao Theatre struggles to become the professional dance theatre, and try her best to provide artistic life of high-quality to the ordinary people.

Ulanova, Mei Lanfang, Pavarotti, Domingo, Pina Bausch, Bai Shuxiang, Guo Lanying and Li Guangxi had given their wonderful performances on the stage of Tianqiao Theatre. Meanwhile, Bolshoi Theatre, Paris Opera Ballet, Mariinsky Theatre, New York City Ballet, San Fransico Ballet, Danish Royal Ballet and Australian Ballet have left the deep and beautiful memories in the hearts of Chinese audience through their wonderful performances.

The audience enjoy and admire The Red Detachment of Women, The Peony Pavilion, Raise the Red Lantern, The Crane Calling, The Light of Heart, Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadère, Romeo and Juliet performed by the National Ballet of China.

In 2008, the Beijing NBC Performing Arts Agency was established and took over the responsibility of running the Beijing Tianqiao Theatre in the following days.

the Beijing Tianqiao Theatre successfully held China International Ballet Seasons in 2013, 2015 and 2017. There, the Chinese ballet is showing its powerful strength to the world. Tianqiao Theatre has become a platform for cultural exchanges and links the ballet art and people, as well as China and the whole world closely.
